Scrappy Stuff

Happy St. Patrick's Day

March 17th already! The winter is finally coming to an end! Not a moment too soon I say. Pogo has had his haircut in hopes that the warm weather is the start of good things to come.

The last week and a half has been horrible ... I had a horrible stinkin' cold that really seemed to last forever. Then D&D both got it too. It seems we are all on the mend though.

Ollie has been away visiting with his Dad in Vancouver since last Tuesday. He is having a great time and is even enjoying some skiing at Whistler!

Here are some photos of Pogo that were taken a couple of weeks ago, that I never got around to posting on here. He was having a great time playing in the warmer weather ... these are pre-haircut.

Ready for Summer

Seriously is this winter ever going to end?? Enough already!

I am so ready for the heat of summer. Ollie's hockey is winding down (not sure if he's made the playoffs yet or not), I have signed Denver up for soccer (he wants to make sure he plays with little kids - not mean big kids like Ollie! LOL), the snow around the pool is melting (you can now tell there is a pool there), the pot holes on the road are the size of craters .... yes, I believe summer is on it's way!

I wish I had a completely exciting life and had lots of things to say on here, but the reality of it is that I am at home all day everyday ... my most exciting part of the day is watching the dust bunnies under the couch! A few of my friends are bloggers, and their blogs always seem to be so interesting. I need a life!!

Well, yesterday was March 2nd ... it was the 8 year anniversary of my brother Liam passing away. For those that didn't know him, he was a wonderful person and didn't deserve to be taken at such a young age. He is missed by all that knew and loved him.

And in closing today, a picture of my Dierky wearing the shirt that my Mum agrees with! "I'm Grandma's Payback" (although I was an angel!!)

He shoots .... he scores!

Well, why can't I get his blogger thing to stay going ..... you think I was too busy or something!?!

So Ollie had a hockey tournament this weekend down in Brockville, his team made it to the semi-finals but unfortunatley lost in overtime. In the first two games, Ollie received the MVP medal for both games (I am so proud of him).

Ollie is #8 (guy in the middle)

This week has been a long week here at the Tompkins-Russell house ... all boys had the stomach flu. Denver (poor little man) had it the worst. Ollie had it Friday night (even called me from a friends house, where he was sleeping over, at 2:00am to go pick him up) and a little on Saturday morning, but assured me that he was fine to go play hockey by 10:00am - even won the MVP for that game. Nothing will keep that boy from his hockey!!

We bought a Wii system last week and love it. Denver has fun challenging Mummy to some games and even beats me (little turd!). Ollie likes it too, but prefers his more violent games (teenagers!).

What else is new .... hmmmmmm......

Oh yeah - Denver skated for his very first time last weekend. He did awesome (with the aid of a helper-thingy) He skated on our pond for about 10 minutes ... I figure for a first time that was pretty darn good. Ollie had a couple of friends over and the were shooting pucks on the nets - so of course Denver and Dierky needed their sticks and joined in. *I did get some videos, but have to figure out how to get it on here - check back later*

OK .... I think that is all (wow - boring life I lead)

'Tis the season!

The season to be really behind on everything!!! This poor little blog of mine is really suffering. My New Years Resolution should be to update this thing weekly ... I'll work on that!!

So what has happened since my last post ....

Ollie is in the middle of his hockey season - that means lots of time spent at the rink for the young boys and I. Denver is easy to handle, but that Dierky is another story LOL! Ollie is improving on his game, he even had a hat trick in one of his games!! He is doing really well for it being his first year as a player and not a goalie.

Denver is getting very excited for Christmas and can't understand what is taking Santa so long to get here! Dierky, although really has no clue about Christmas, can now say "Santa" .... sounds more like 'Nant-na' and of course "Ho Ho Ho".

About a month ago we had photso taken of the boys ... Dierky didn't cooperate at all, but here is how they turned out - my handsome boys!!

Another weekend over ...

Why do the weekends go by so darn quickly? Why can't we have 5 day weekends and 2 day weeks? Why can't we be rich and not have to work ever again?

OK .... that is all my thoughts for today!

My lil stinker and monkey

Halloween has come and gone ... trick-or-treating went well. Dierky was tired and grouchy before we started, but Denver was quite excited. We visited with friends and family first (have to show of the cute boys!) and then we headed to my mum's neighbourhood to go door to door. Denver really was having a good time and kept saying "One more house" after each house ... he didn't want to stop!! He was very well mannered and said "Trick or Treat" and "Thankyou" at each house, where as Dierky just grabbed the loot and wanted to eat it right there on the peoples doorsteps! LOL!
So after a tiring walk we headed home and put the boys to bed ... Dierky slept in until a little after 9am this morning!
So, I wasn't able to get actual pictures of the boys trick-or-treating, but here they are at home in their costumes.
Denver the monkey
Dierky - my little stinker
The boys playing together ... they were giggling their heads off!

And some little treats I made!
